Boris Koodrin: An American Creator

The San Bruno resident demonstrates the screen printing process, one of his many artistic talents and a representation of what he describes as being part of a nation of creative producers.

Resident is well known locally for his unique artwork, murals and his collection of hand-painted wooden doors. But he's also been running a screen printing business, The Image Company, since 1975. When he's not working on his other projects or coordinating the art competition for the San Mateo County Fair, he's usually making screen prints out of his home studio for different clients throughout the area.

San Bruno Patch caught up with Koodrin on a recent afternoon where he was making T-shirts for a Stanford University jazz workshop. His son was there to help.

In describing his screen printing business, Koodrin said: "The American garage is the sacred temple and the American entrepreneur the ultimate high priest in the American experience of liberty."
