Fundraiser Planned for Children of Fatal Car Crash Victims

Hello Everyone,

On July 28th of this year I tragically lost my brother, Arnulfo Picazo age 39, and cousin, Usbaldo Gomez age 37, is a horrific car accident. Arnulfo and Usbaldo were with each other at St. Bruno’s Church on the day they were rear-ended in a fatal car accident. Usbaldo had just baptized his baby daughter Averiana Guillermina, and Arnulfo took part in the ceremony as her godfather. The baptism ended just minutes before the fatal accident. Now that they are gone it is my and my family’s responsibility to look after their children, Elias Picazo age 7, Angelina Reyna Gomez age 7, Andres Bernardino Gomez age 5, Vida Maria age 4 and Averiana Guillermina age 1.

Arnulfo and Usbaldo were not only cousins they were best friends and inseparable. They loved being together, could not live without each other, and it is a bitter sweet that they went to heaven together. They lived their life for their families and friends always putting their needs before their own and were loved by everyone that knew them.

In memory of my cousin and brother we started the Usbaldo Gomez and Arnulfo Picazo Memorial Fund. This fund has been set-up to raise resources for the five little children that have been left fatherless and has already started accepting donations from family, friends and the community.

On November 4th, 2012 the Picazo Family and Laborers Local 261 will be hosting a fundraiser, celebrating the 40thbirthday of our beloved brother Arnulfo Picazo to raise funds for the Usbaldo Gomez and Arnulfo Picazo Memorial Fund.

This fundraiser will take place November 4th, 2012 at:

LiUNA! Local 261 Union Hall,

3271 18th Street,

San Francisco

From noon to 5pm

We will be serving BBQ, Tacos and a wide variety of side dishes.

We are asking for a $25.00 per adult donation (kids are free)

There will be games for the kids and raffle prizes.

We have a high fundraising goal and would be greatly thankful for your contribution. Donations in the form of money, event supplies or raffle items would be very much appreciated. Your generous gift will help support the well being of Arnulfo and Usbaldo’s children.

Thank you for taking the time to read this announcement. We hope you consider making donation. If you have any questions or need further information, please feel free to contact me call me at (650) 515-6481 or via email at yanirapicazo@aol.com.

 Sincerely,

 Yanira Picazo-Segura

(Sister of Arnulfo Picazo)

Mr, Kiely, When they cut school days, isn't the savings in that the employees who directly work withRead More and for the children are deprived of that many days of pay??? Do the principals also lose 5 days pay? Does Hutt lose 5 days pay? Do the board members lose 5 days worth of their stipend. In other words, is the bad tasting medicine swallowed by everyone in the school district in a sincere effort to cure the ills of this school district Or is it just the teachers and the classified workers who are called upon to attempt a restoral of good health, the direct result of poor management and less than admirable leadership that has brought about ths crisis??

Mr, Kiely, Somewhere I heard that they were considering stopping contracting out PE at a largeRead More savings. Was that discussed last week? I was not abe to stay the entire evening. I question why they would have contracted for PE at the elementary level. Isn't that what recess and the balance of lunch time was for? Physical activity??? Thank you in advance for your always knowledgeable answer to my questions.

District cutting school days? The District is showing an agreement with the union which will saveRead More $200K. It doesn't show where the money is coming from, but the amount makes it look like they are cutting 5 days from the calendar. Dr. Hutt said at the last meeting that the length of the school year was still under negotiation.
