Community Corner

Vision Boards and Creative Collage

Starting the New Year makes me think of ways to do things differently.  I want to add more creativity to every day in 2014.  Being creative with what I eat, how I spend my time, how I work , how I communicate and interact with others is my big goal.  To that end, I decided to teach a class at the San Bruno Recreation Center in Creative Collage starting Jan 6th.  I committed to four Monday evenings to share my love of collage in the form of vision boards, mixed media projects and use of printed words, colors and textures combined into unique pieces of art.  I had hoped to create a small community of artists who would get together, encourage each other and jump start our creativity in the new year.

But I am finding it hard to get the word out about the class.  The rec center is not easy to deal with (lots of hoops to jump through to be a new instructor including insurance requirements and fingerprinting, and I did it all).  Their color activity guide was mailed out in December and I had high hopes,  but as of today the class is not full.

I hope this message finds some kindred spirits out there in San Bruno who are brave enough to try something new and fun.  You can sign up for Creative Collage through the rec center web site at www.sanbruno.ca.gov
or go to their office in City Park.
