Facebook Page Launched to 'Pay It Forward' Like Bob Marshall

A Redwood City real estate broker started the project in honor of the former San Bruno mayor to carry on Bob Marshall's tradition of being generous to perfect strangers.

A website and Facebook page have been created to pay homage to the late Bob Marshall and his frequent practice of spreading goodwill to others.

Redwood City real estate broker Robert Pedro of Signature Realty started the site, Friends of Bob Marshall, because Marshall, the former San Bruno mayor and founder of Marshall Realty who died earlier this year, was always known for "paying it forward" and he often offered to anonymously pay for someone else’s meal just because it would brighten their day.

The website and Facebook page look to inspire others to embody that same spirit of making a difference and being generous to perfect strangers.

From the website:

Bob passed on May 8, 2012, and to honor his memory, we decided to foster and expand his “pay it forward” concept by building this website to promote the spirit of giving.

If you received a card telling you that your meal has been paid for, we ask only two things of you:

  1. Spend some time each day to think about how you can help improve the lives of your fellow man.
  2. Pay the kindness forward by buying a meal for someone else.

To find out more about the project, visit the Friends of Bob Marshall Facebook page.
