Did YOU notice – Caltrain trains are running on top of the still to be finished elevated San Bruno Grade Separation?  No more vehicle vs train accidents at Angus, San Mateo or San Bruno Avenues here in San Bruno.  

Friday, May 31 – San Bruno Cub Pack 290 invites graduating kindergarten boys to begin their scouting adventures as a Tiger Cub Scout.  Next Pack meeting Friday May 31st 6:30 p.m. John Muir Elementary School. 130 Cambridge Lane.  Brink your parents and learn about scouting and having FUN.  Info:  pack290@sanbrunocable.com or go to www.sanbrunopack290.com

EARLY June - San Francisco International Airport has advised that in early June the contracted goats will again be showing up from San Bruno Avenue all the way to Millbrae Avenue just EAST of the San Bruno City limit’s line on the Airport property to eat a fire break along the property lines.  SFIA tries to provide this much needed service yearly just before the 4th of July fireworks season.  The businesses and residents of San Bruno thank SFIA for this service.  
Starting Now:  The San Bruno Culture and Arts Commission's annual "Movies in the Park" events (every Friday in Sept) in City Park is quickly coming up.

Friday, June 7 – DEADLINE - The San Bruno Community Services Department is currently looking for sponsors for their annual "Concerts in the Park." The goal of the concerts is to bring families and community together to enjoy local talent in our beautiful park.  The past concerts have been a huge success, and they are looking forward to another great year with a great lineup of bands. This year, they are accepting monetary donations to offset the costs of the performers. By sponsoring the event, your business will receive many opportunities for exposure.  For more information on the levels of sponsorship please contact The Recreation Division at (650) 616-7184.  All sponsors must be secured by June 7, for promotional purposes!

Disaster Preparedness Day at the San Mateo County Fair.  Get Ready: Sign Up for Emergency Alerts  Are you ready for the Big One - or any other disaster?  One step you can take is to sign up to receive emergency notifications from the San Mateo County Office of Emergency Services.  Go to https://www.smcalert.info/ to sign up and for more information.  Find out how to prepare for a disaster at San Mateo County Disaster Preparedness Day on Saturday June 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the San Mateo Event Center, 2495 S. Delaware St., San Mateo. Once again Disaster Preparedness Day is being held on the opening day of the San Mateo County Fair. You and your family receive free admission to the fair and free parking if you arrive before 11 a.m. Talk with emergency responders, learn how to put together an emergency kit, watch demonstrations and have some fun at Fiesta Hall.  For more information, contact Office of Emergency Services at (650) 363-4790 or the Office of Supervisor Adrienne J. Sunday, June 9 -  SAVE THE DATE - The San Bruno Chamber of Commerce with the City of San Bruno and the West Coast Farmers' Market Association are pleased to report that the San Bruno City Council approved bringing the Sunday Farmers' Markets back to San Mateo Avenue between Jenevein and Sylvan starting Sunday June 9th and running through Sunday November 24th from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.  QUESTIONS and for the latest on our "Special Sunday Events" contact Chamber CEO Jamie Monozon at 588-0180 or Office@sanbrunochamber.com

CONTINUING EVENT NEEDING YOUR SUPPORT:  The City of San Bruno is seeking volunteers: The City has numerous commissions and committees that through volunteers provide a vital service to the City. Currently there are two (2) openings on the Citizens Crime Prevention Committee and one (1) opening on the Bicycle & Pedestrian Committee, additional vacancies on other committees and committees MAY be open.  To obtain the necessary volunteer interest form for ALL City committees and commissions email City Clerk Carol Bonner at cbonner@sanbruno.ca.gov.

CONTINUING EVENT NEEDING YOUR SUPPORT:  The San Bruno Citizens' Crime Prevention Committee (that meets the 2nd Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in City Hall).  The City of San Bruno, through its Citizen’s Crime Prevention Committee, is the place to turn for “How to Start a Neighborhood Watch Block”.  Call the SBPD at 616-7100 and ask that their Neighborhood Watch info be sent.
