Here is information regarding our 2013 AYSO region 249 and the results from our 2013 Soccerfest weekend:

San Bruno AYSO (American Youth Soccer Organization) Region 249

o   39th year in San Bruno where there are 950 players and 79 teams

o   Opening Weekend at the San Bruno Soccer Complex – Peninsula High School fields on Courtland Drive - featured;

Friday – Soccerfest Parade with the following judges picking winners in the home made banner contest:

U6 & VIP Teams – Marc Freidman, Jamie Monozon, Irene O’Connell

o   1st Place – Purple Power Kicking Butterflies – sponsored by Peninsula Television

o   2nd Place – Blue Sharks – sponsored by Shari’s Restaurant

o   3rd Place – Sharks sponsored by Foley Construction

o   4th Place – The Ladybugs sponsored by Mag Management

Our judges represented the San Bruno Council members and Mayor, San Mateo Union High School District and Superintendent, San Bruno Rotary President, San Bruno Chamber of Commerce President, San Bruno Patch and San Mateo County Times

Saturday – Opening day games at the San Bruno Soccer Complex, located at Peninsula High School on Courtland Drive, began at 8am and continued until 6pm with a BBQ lunch for every player, coach and referees!

The weather cooperated with sunshine blue skies – fun was in the air!

AYSO is celebrating its 50th Anniversary in the United States - it was started in Torrance, California in 1964

San Bruno AYSO region 249 is one of 5 regions that make up Area 2-B.  Area 2-B is the northern peninsula and includes Region 145 – Millbrae, Region 146 – Daly City, Region 157 – Pacifica and Region 1344 – Brisbane.
