Things to Know: San Bruno Farmers' Market Returns to San Mateo Avenue

Farmers Market Returns to San Mateo Avenue 10 a.m. Sunday June 9th 2013

News From Tuesday May 28th’s San Bruno City Council.

The San Bruno City Council tonight accepted the staff report containing the working relationships between the City, the San Bruno Chamber of Commerce, & the West Coast Farmers Market Association to run and manage the 2013 season’s Farmers Markets on Sundays back on San Mateo Avenue.

The San Bruno Sunday Farmers’ Market Returns to San Mateo Avenue between Jenevein and Sylvan Avenues Sundays starting June 9th and continuing through November 24th

The San Bruno Chamber of Commerce announces the return of the San Bruno Farmers Market to San Mateo Avenue!  With much consideration and keeping economic development in mind, the Chamber surveyed many San Bruno businesses, merchants with businesses on San Mateo Avenue, farmer’s market customers and San Bruno residents.  The results of the survey helped determined our decision to bring the market back to San Mateo Avenue.  Eighty Five percent (85%) of those we surveyed were in favor of having the market back on The Avenue.  The City of San Bruno encouraged the move in consideration of helping increase business for the merchants.  The Chamber’s on-going focus of economic development for the business community and the vitality of downtown made the decision an easy one for our board of directors.

The San Bruno Chamber in partnership with West Coast Farmers Market Association and the City of San Bruno will bring local growers and farmers offering seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as gourmet pre-packaged foods, fun foods like kettle corn and special Sunday events involving the San Bruno Community with family fun at the forefront of the events.

The Chamber will be coordinating several booth spaces available to non-profits, clubs, chamber members, schools, family friendly associations, San Bruno City boards, committees, commissions and more.  San Bruno Chamber members will have an opportunity to display their businesses, make demonstrations and have products and services available to the Market customers.

Anyone interested in requesting a booth space will need to provide the following information to Jamie Monozon at the San Bruno Chamber office located at 618 San Mateo Avenue, San Bruno, CA 94066.  Phone (650) 588-0180; Email: Office@sanbrunochamer.com or register online at www.sanbrunochamber.com
