Things To Know: San Bruno Mosquito Treatment Aug 13th

Tuesday, August 13 – Between approximately 6 a.m. until noon.  The San Mateo County Mosquito & Vector Control District will preform the third of 4 helicopter treatments over Mills Field between highway 101 and the 7th Avenue properties.  Pellets treated with a special selective bacteria are dropped into the thick groups of tules, in standing water, and then using the helicopter prop downdraft, the pellets are forced all the way down between the tules into the water below.

Weather permitting and depending upon whether the first treatment in at Mills Field or Sharp’s Park, the actual time could be anywhere between 6 a.m. and noon.

The District continues to remind all residents to dump all standing water and to report freshly killed birds and squirrels to 1-877-WNV-BIRD.
