Things To Know: Sidewalk Repair In Progress

PHOTOS: Sidewalk repairs are underway in San Bruno.

The City has an ongoing program to actually repair/replace/re-do sections of the City's sidewalks that have been deformed.

Photos show work that has started.

Mr. Marty Medina (when he was still working for the City) determined that this section of the sidewalk needed repair.

Do you know of a sidewalk in need of repair? Tell us below in comments.

There are a couple of places mid-block on the 100 block of Acacia where the sidewalk slabs have lifted badly. The city ground them down some time ago, but they have continued to lift and now some of those edges are starting to crumble off. And there are also a few spots where the curb is out of alignment, which makes it a pain for people parking on the street who have to worry about their tires and hubcaps getting messed up.

Heidi I suggest you check with the City's Community Service Department (Klara Fabry). Over a year ago the City paint marked my neighbor's problem sidewalk and recently they came thru and saw cut the sidewalk and today they finished the job. The City has an open contract to use a current contractor to use time to do such small locations and the City should be able to tell you if your location in on their master list and more importantly if it is on the list currently being done on this small contract.

Yes!! On the South Bayshore block in front of 23-25 Bayshore, there is a HUGE hole due the the concrete falling inward and below the street level. It has since been filled in with pea gravel as a temporary fix, but is in great need of a permanent repair. Please help!!

Thanks, Robert. I'm pretty sure the city is on it because the sidewalk has been marked for some time. I'm just surprised it is taking so long because the gap is really bad in a couple of places -- definitely a hazard.
