Things To Know: Speier Job Fair - Oct. 16th

U. S. Congresswoman Speier announces:

Dear Job Seekers,

Mark your calendars! My next Job Hunters Boot Camp (JHBC) is scheduled for October 16, 2013, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm, at the San Mateo Event Center, Fiesta Hall. If you are looking for work and inspiration in your job search, I encourage you to attend this free event.

This will be the 10th boot camp since I started holding these events in 2010. Job Hunters Boot Camp is not your typical job fair. In addition to having a chance to speak to local employers who are hiring, you have access to a wide variety of resources. We will have workshops teaching you how to ace your interview, how to avoid the ten most common mistakes in your job search, how to advance your career, how to effectively use LinkedIn, and more. You will be able to review your resume and practice your interviewing skills with experts.

Our goal is to boost your morale and help you find employment. You are not alone! Over 5,000 job seekers have taken advantage of past boot camps and many have landed full time jobs. At the last event, for example, Lindsay Schulz shared how JHBC helped her:

We will have dozens of employers – the list is still growing – who are looking for candidates. Space is limited, so I urge you to sign up early right here. Please share this email with family and friends who might also be interested in attending JHBC.

On October 16th, bring your resume, your enthusiasm and make an impression!

If you have attended a boot camp in the past that has helped you find work, I’d welcome an opportunity to hear from you. Please call my office at 650-342-0300 to share your success story.

All the best,

Jackie
