What Did Downtown San Bruno Look Like Back in the Day?

Share photos and videos of your community with your neighbors.

Some of the new photos in our  show San Mateo Avenue and El Camino Real from the 1920s to the 1960s. What other nostalgic photos do you have of the city from back in the day?

Darold Fredericks' book, "Images of America: San Bruno" is an excellent resource if you would like to know more about San Bruno's very colorful history. Lots of historic photos, maps and images of San Bruno. Arcadia Publishing, 2003.

I agree. I would also recommend Darold's book, "San Bruno People and Places," from which the Images of America book gets a lot of its information, and Don Shoecraft's "The History of San Bruno, The Crossroads Community." All required reading for history of the city.
