Blueberries, Stone Fruits at Sunday's Farmers' Market
There will also be a contest, Spit that Pit, where patrons can win fresh produce.
Attention, young and young-at-heart: has a rip-roaring activity planned Sunday. The cherry spitting contest gets underway at 11 a.m.; all participants are advised to gather at the information booth.
“It’s really fun,” said market manager Keith Wall. “Pure and simple, the farthest cherry pit wins.” Prizes come in the form of “carrot cash,” which can be used at any stall within the market.
The outdoor market, on San Mateo Avenue between Jenevein and Sylvan avenues, features fresh blueberries and stone fruits this week.

The weather should be fine: Sunday, a bit windy at 63 degrees.

- tomatoes of several varieties
- mint tea
- bitter melons
- nectarines, peaches and apricots
Shoppers can also take home freshly prepared products, including pies, popcorn, sauces, baked goods, nuts and nut butters, sweet and savory condiments and jams.
Organically grown produce is marked clearly, Wall said.
The farmers' market is made possible through the support and partnership of the San Bruno Chamber of Commerce. Other partners include:

Cooking Matters, a collaborative program that teaches families how to prepare healthy, tasty meals on a limited budget.
