The Easter Bunny Arrives and an eWaste Collection Raises Funds This Weekend

Glad you clicked on our Weekend Planner! With spring in the air, we have researched acitivies, events and spots around town that the whole family will enjoy. 

 

Where/When: , 33 Arroyo Dr. in South San Francisco from 4–7:30 p.m. Friday, April 15.

Why Go: Hundreds of exhibits will be on display showcasing the extraordinary artistry of SSF Unified School District students. Visitors will be treated to painting, pencil and ink, ceramics, watercolors, photography, sculpture and mixed media artwork created by students from kindergarten through 12th grade.

Pricing: Free

 

Where/When: , 1150 El Camino Real from 3:30–5 p.m. Friday,  April 15.

Why Go: Join the Radio Disney Road Crew as they help welcome the Easter bunny.

Pricing: Free

 

Where/When: 1 Market St. in San Francisco from 4 p.m.–7 p.m. Friday, April 15.

Why Go: Please join the Bay Area Patriots for the third annual San Francisco Tea Party at Justin Herman Plaza (along the Embarcadero across from the Ferry Building).

Where/When: , 1 Library Ave. in Millbrae. From 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, April 16.

Why Go:  Friends of the Millbrae Library Outdoor Bargain Book & Media Sale. All items are priced at 25 to 50 cents. The bag sale takes place from 2 to 3 p.m. with bags selling for $5.

Pricing: Free

 

Where/When: 618 San Mateo Ave. from 9–11 a.m. on Saturday, April 16.

Why Go: San Bruno Chamber of Commerce all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast runs from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. 

Pricing: $5 for adults; $3 for those over 65 and under 12. Children 6 and under free with one paid adult.

 

Where/When: 1400 Broadway in San Francisco, 5 p.m. Saturday, April 16.

Why Go: Ride in eco-friendly pre-1930's antique touring cars and see  Coit Tower, Chinatown, North Beach, Fisherman's Wharf and the Embarcadero light up at night.

Pricing: $27

 

Where/When: , 180 El Camino Real from 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Saturday, April 16.

Why Go: One day only - free to recycle televisions, monitors, laptops, flat screens, cell phones, ink jet cartridges, wire. Small collection fee of $5 for printers, DVD players, fax machines, and small appliances.

Where/When: 1651 Coyote Point Dr. from  11 a.m.–5 p.m. Sunday, April 17.

Why Go: Join us for our fourth annual Earth Day celebration and participate in unique activities for the entire family. Meet live animals, tinker with gadgets and play with hands-on science activities. Learn about urban farming, beekeeping and how to save energy in your home. Join beach clean-up efforts. After you’re finished, enjoy an array of tasty, sustainable food options. Bring the entire family to celebrate science, nature and our amazing Earth. 

Pricing: Free with admission

 

Where/When: 1651 Coyote Point Dr. in San Mateo, 10 a.m. Friday, April 22.

Why Go: "Intertebrate Corner"--Get up close to a tarantula, black widow spider or an array of beetles at the museum's new exhibit.

Pricing: $5-$8

 

Where/When:  , 850 Burlingame Ave. in Burlingame, from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. on Friday, April 22.

Why Go: The City of Burlingame Recreation Division is offering weekly "Drop-In For Active Adults" Days. Play bridge, card games, checkers and more. Feel free to bring your own partner or come by yourself; all are welcome.

Do the principals also lose 5 days pay? Does Hutt lose 5 days pay? Do the board members lose 5 days worth of their stipend. In other words, is the bad tasting medicine swallowed by everyone in the school district in a sincere effort to cure the ills of this school district Or is it just the teachers and the classified workers who are called upon to attempt a restoral of good health, the direct result of poor management and less than admirable leadership that has brought about ths crisis??

I question why they would have contracted for PE at the elementary level. Isn't that what recess and the balance of lunch time was for? Physical activity??? Thank you in advance for your always knowledgeable answer to my questions.

District cutting school days? The District is showing an agreement with the union which will saveRead More $200K. It doesn't show where the money is coming from, but the amount makes it look like they are cutting 5 days from the calendar. Dr. Hutt said at the last meeting that the length of the school year was still under negotiation.
