Blueberries Still Main Attraction at Farmers' Market

Sunday, the market will be on Jenevein Avenue instead of San Mateo Avenue because of the Posy Parade.

Despite the anticipated forecast of rain, the will still be in full swing on Sunday.

The planned kids activities and entertainment won't happen due to the 70 percent chance of showers. However, the fresh produce from the local vendors will still be open for business, said market manager Keith Wall.

Especially fresh on Sunday will be the blueberries from Kingsburg-based R. Allen & Laurel Jackson Farm (San Joaquin Valley), Wall said.

One other difference with the market will be location. Because of the , the market will move from San Mateo Avenue to Jenevein Avenue.

In addition to blueberries, patrons will find cherries, persimmons, bitter melons, pies, popcorn and other baked goods and spreads.
