Blueberries to Join Tasty Fare at Sunday's Farmers' Market

The downtown farmers' market will also feature pies, jams and other fresh, local produce and items.

In addition to freshly picked produce, the San Bruno will roll out the Learning Wheel Bookmobile this Sunday, courtesy of the San Bruno Chamber of Commerce. Face painters will also be on hand.

Blueberries will make their debut this Sunday. Rain or shine, here's what else shoppers can find at the farmers' market:

  • cherries
  • persimmons
  • different varieties of applies
  • orchids
  • organic strawberries
  • cherry tomatoes
  • mint tea
  • bitter melons
  • nectarines

Also, some new vendors will be joining purveyors of popcorn, sauces, baked goods, nuts and nut butters, and organic vegetables. They include:

  • Miss Lynn’s Pies
  • Terra Verde Foods, with condiments and dressings ranging from sweet to spicey
  • Aunt Kittie’s Jams

The San Bruno Farmers' Market, which is held on San Mateo Avenue between Jenevein and Sylvan avenues, is offering an incentive program that offers a $5 bonus when you purchase at least $10 in EBT/CalFresh tokens at the farmers' market. If you receive CalFresh benefits (food stamps), bring your EBT card to the farmers' market every time you shop. See the market manager in the bright yellow shirt to purchase tokens to spend in the market and claim your bonus. The Extra Five program continues at the farmers' market until Sept. 30.
