Bottled Water Company Wins Walmart Contest

Two other companies also took second and third place in Walmart's "Get on the Shelf" contest, which was the brainchild of San Bruno-based @WalmartLabs and similar to "American Idol" in which people got to vote for the contestants' inventions.

A bottled water company with a cause won Walmart's "Get on the Shelf" contest, the company said today.

HumanKind Water, which donates 100 percent of its net profits to clean drinking water project in underdeveloped countries, was the grand prize winner and will be able to sell its products in select Walmart stores throughout the country and on Walmart.com.

PlateTopper, a kitchen product that transforms dinner plates into airtight food storage containers, and SnapIt Eyeglass Repair Kit, a screw kit to fix glasses in 30 seconds, also won the contest. Their products will also get to be sold on Walmart.com.
