When you're looking to throw a birthday party for your kids, you could do all of the planning yourself.
Or you could just go down to San Mateo Avenue and talk to the friendly folks at , which has been voted this week's readers' choice winner for the best place in San Bruno to have a kids' birthday party.
The ice cream shop, which features a large private room in the back specifically for these special occassions, garnered more than 50 percent of the votes in our poll.
One reader gave props to Sweet Connections co-owner Belle Ettlin and described why the ice cream shop is the best place, in her opinion, for a kids' birthday party:
"Belle is super attentive and works with you to create a special celebration. It's affordable and EASY...we had papa johns pizza delivered from down the block and we brought cake. The kiddos (and adults) loved picking out their own ice cream and topping for dessert. For entertainment, we played xbox connect (you can rent for a small fee) and we gave out prizes."
Next week, San Bruno Patch will be looking for the best places to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. The voting for that contest begins at 9 a.m. on Monday.
