Wells Fargo Awards Grants to 3 San Bruno Schools

In all, 79 schools throughout the Bay Area were honored by the banking company.

Three San Bruno schools received $1,000 grants from Wells Fargo Wednesday for displaying a long-standing commitment to education. 

, and , which is part of the Millbrae Unified School District, were given the checks at a special breakfast event held in San Francisco. The schools were some of the 79 total recognized throughout the Bay Area by the banking company. 

In San Francisco, the North Bay and on the Peninsula alone, Wells Fargo awarded more than $374,000. About $650,000 in grants were given to schools throughout the East Bay, the company said. Store managers selected each neighborhood school and encouraged each branch to volunteer at the schools when needed.

“In addition to the countless hours that our team members spend volunteering in local schools, we are glad to provide funding directly to school principals throughout our region,” Mike Billeci, executive vice president and president of Wells Fargo’s San Francisco Bay region, said in a statement. “Whether they need laptops, chalkboards, rulers or globes, teachers understand their needs best and can direct resources to their schools’ priorities.”
