Earthquake Recap: Five Quakes Shake Peninsula

A handful of earthquakes hit just offshore this week.

Five small to medium-sized earthquakes made waves on the Richter scale in and around San Mateo County this week, with the largest measured at 3.3, offshore directly west of Daly City.

Generally, earthquakes that fail to break the 2-mark on the scale are difficult to feel far from the epicenter. As of Sunday evening, 26 people reported feeling the 3.3 earthquake on the U.S. Geological Survey website, including two people in San Bruno. Thirty-six reported feeling a 2.7, including one person in Burlingame.

See the chart below for times, locations, etc. of the seismic events.
