Get Ready to Swim and Vote for Movies in the Park

Here are six things every San Bruno resident should know about for the coming week.

Here are some important things happening around town that everyone should know about for the coming week.

Events

Saturday, 10:30-11:30 a.m. The will hold a reception called Art in Action, which will feature selected art made during the 2010-11 school year by students from and St. Dunstan School in Millbrae.

Sunday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The transit corridors plan information booth will again be at the . City personnel will be available with maps and graphic posters illustrating important aspects of the proposed plan. Informational handouts will be available. The city seeks your input on the (as currently proposed) aspects of this plan. The height question for portions will need to go to a vote of the residents before approval. June 6. Swim lessons begin at the pool. For more information, call the city's at 650-616-7180. Lessons will be available all summer long. You can find the pool's schedule on the city's website.

June 6. 7-8 p.m. The library holds every Monday. It's for children ages 3 and up, and you can bring the whole family. For more information, email sbpl@plsinfo.org.

Who's Who and What's What

1. There are currently three vacancies that need to be filled on the following city commissions: Citizens Crime Prevention Committee, Culture and Arts Commission and Personnel Board. The crime prevention committee meets at 7 p.m. in City Hall on the second Thursday of each month. The culture and arts committee meets at 6:30 p.m. in City Hall on the third Thursday of the month. The personnel board meets at 5:30 p.m. in City Hall meets on the third Monday of the month. Applications are available by visiting the , calling 650-616-7058 or emailing vhasha@sanbruno.ca.gov.

2. You can now vote for which flicks will be shown during the city's Movies in the Park series in September. Vote for your five favorites out of the following list:
