The memorial service and funeral for the two cousins who were in San Bruno on Saturday will be held this week, the family has announced.
Services for Usbaldo Gomez, 37, of South San Francisco and Arnulfo Picazo, 39, of San Bruno will be held jointly at .
The crash is still under investigation, but those close to the cousins said they had just left a baptism at St. Bruno's for Gomez's daughter, who just turned 1. They were on their way to pick up some refreshments for the party after the baptism when they were rear-ended by a pickup truck at the stoplight at Sneath Lane and El Camino Real.
The cousins were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The driver of the pickup truck also struck two other vehicles at the intersection, and three others, including the driver of the truck, were taken to a local hospital with injuries, police said.
A vigil service for Gomez and Picazo will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Bruno's. Visitation will start at 6:45 p.m. The funeral Mass will take place at 4 p.m. on Friday at the church.
