Week in Review: Parkside Transition Moving Forward, Board Says

: Assemblyman Jerry Hill, D-San Mateo, introduced a new piece of legislation that he said would leverage pending fines assessed against PG&E for the 2010 San Bruno fire to reduce the costs customers would have to pay for the company's $2.2 billion pipeline modernization plan.

Wednesday, May 30

: Following the superintendent's recommendation, the San Bruno Park School Board voted 3-2 to move forward with moving sixth graders to the school next year, despite concerns that Parkside wouldn't be ready for the transition.

Thursday, May 31

: Police announced that a police officer prevented three men who were on their way to kill a rival gang member early Saturday morning from following through with their plans. The men were arrested and now face attempted murder charges.

Friday, June 1

: After working a year as the San Bruno Chamber of Commerce CEO, Jessica Evans recently announced that she will be leaving her position to work for the Downtown San Mateo Association.
