Scouting For Food - Food Collection Drive

Scouts from San Bruno distributed nearly 4,000 doorhangers in the last week with information about Scouting for Food, the organization's annual nationwide food drive. Throughout San Mateo County, the Scouts' efforts benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank and other charitable agencies throughout the San Francisco Peninsula. In 2011, our Council collected over 79,000 lbs of food. This equates to more than 52,000 meals, or the feeding of about 13,000 four-person families.

If you received a door hanger, please place a donation of nonperishable goods in a recycled bag or box, attach the door hanger, and place the goods outside in view of the street by 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 17. Scouts will be by today to collect those goods.

Didn't receive a doorhanger? You can still bring your donation to our area collection site at 409 S. Spruce St., South San Francisco.
