Reminder: All Aboard the Caltrain Holiday Train This Weekend

The 2013 Holiday Train will hit the rails Dec. 7 & 8, and will travel between San Francisco and San Jose spreading holiday cheer throughout the Peninsula.

Caltrain, in partnership with Silicon Valley Community Foundation, will bring back the 2013 Holiday Train December 7 & 8, spreading joy and the community spirit of giving throughout the Bay Area.

The dazzling show train, with more than 60,000 glittering lights, will be visiting nine stations between San Francisco and San Jose.

Locally, the train is scheduled to stop at the Burlingame Caltrain station on Saturday December 7 at 5:15 p.m.

On Sunday, December 8, the train should arrive at the Millbrae Caltrain station at 5:15 p.m. for 20 minutes of celebration, travel south for a few more stops, then arrive at the Menlo Park Caltrain station at 7:45 p.m., with an ultimate destination in Sunnyvale at 8:40 p.m.

This free family event gives more than 4,000 gifts annually to thousands of local children who would otherwise be forgotten at this time of year.

Toys collected from the event benefit the Salvation Army and the Marines Toys for Tots program.
