This week is Teacher Appreciation Week at Allen School. As I get my ingredients ready to prepare a pasta and salad lunch for them today, I think to myself...this isn't nearly enough to express my gratitude...
Although we have parents cooking and bringing in lunch all week and students doing something special for them each day i.e.: flowers on Monday, wear teacher's favorite color on Tues., draw a picture for them on Wed., a special card or note on Thurs., and be on your BEST behavior on Fri., teachers still don't get the rewards that they deserve!
They spend more time with our children than some parents do! I am lucky that my job is flexible but I can't forget that the time they spend with my kids is quite the quality time teaching, listening, and enjoying them probably more than I do half the time.
I really love and appreciate our teachers and staff at Allen School. It is the second largest school next to Belle Aire with 2 classes per grade. Each class has at least 31 students. I know this first-hand because I distribute our PTA flyers to their mailboxes almost monthly. I don't know how teachers can work everyday with 31 children when sometimes I can't even handle my own TWO!
Teachers of all kinds should be appreciated more often! Have you ever seen university teachers where they teach in what looks to me like a stadium of hundreds of students everyday? I can't even imagine. It takes a special person to work in that environment and stay passionate about it.
Pre-school teachers, private school teachers, coaches, counselors. There are so many that are involved in our children's lives. I thank them all! Thank you!
