A 4th of July Fireworks Booth Phenomenon

San Bruno fireworks booths are such awesome fundraisers. Here's my experience during a week of fun and excitement.

Coordinating my first San Bruno fireworks booth this year was quite the experience! First of all, when I heard that this was my son’s new middle school's only major fundraiser, I thought, “This is awesome! …their ONLY major fundraiser?” Well, the amount that these fireworks booths generate will tell you why! We don’t have the numbers yet but the constant stream of customers would lead me to believe that the numbers are phenomenal!

In a week's work, we had a couple of lead coordinators who set up, collected and counted money, and tore down at the end of the week. The work, in between, was done by the hard working volunteer parents, teachers, community members and even an alumni who lives in San Lorenzo who wanted to help her old middle school! How cool was that?

I particularly enjoyed meeting and hanging out with the new parents that I will be with in the coming years at Parkside as well as chatting with fireworks consumers from all over the Bay Area! I was even interviewed by the Channel 7 News! The weather held up nicely for the seven days that we were in business. We had a few foggy evenings but we were home soon so it was fine. We San Brunians are kind of used to that especially if you have ever played a sport here or had a kid that plays.
