It was 1905 when San Bruno’s Third Addition was formed and streets were shaped into two hearts. What the heck was going on in those developers minds when they thought of that? Well, some say that San Bruno was a secret get away for people from San Francisco for romance, gambling and boxing??
Another interesting feature from this photo, taken in the 1930′s is the tree lined street along El Camino Real right where Walgreens is! That area was a property called Uncle Tom’s Cabin back in the day! It was a bar, restaurant, and gambling hall!
San Bruno has a lot of very cool history! I get most of my info from an awesome book written by my friend, Darold Fredricks simply called “San Bruno”.
