What Vet Do You Trust for Your Pet?

Having a pet is similar to having a child. It takes time to find the right person to care for your dog or cat, especially when they fall ill.

Your four-legged friend is more than just a house guest. Whether you have a dog or a cat, or even a bunny or a snake, you want it to receive the best care when going in for a routine check-up or when he gets sick.

There are two pet hospitals in San Bruno and many veterinarians in the surrounding areas, but Patch wants to know who you think is the best.

Is it an animal clinic in town, where you see different veterinarians? Or is there a caring person you tried on a friend's recommendation that has taken excellent care of your pet for years?

Definitely Redwood Animal Hospital in Castro Valley. On the other side of the bay, but well worth it for the care and attention (and they also do grooming and boarding) http://www.redwoodanimalhospital.net
And they've been featured on Patch & Pawnation: http://www.pawnation.com/2012/04/11/pet-myths-debunked-homemade-pet-food-is-healthier/ http://castrovalley.patch.com/blog_posts/my-pet-is-scheduled-for-surgery-what-should-i-do http://castrovalley.patch.com/blog_posts/smile-its-national-pet-dental-health-month

Hi Patch! I've had dogs for the past 20 years and in that time went to many veterinarians. Dr. Griffin at spruce pet hospital is the best out there!
If you need an old school vet who really knows his stuff, he's your man. Greg

Greg is right on the spot. Dr. Griffin (in SSF) has been fantastic for care and price to everyone I know whom has used him. Compassionate and fair.

For years I've been taking my three animals to Dr. Steve Sutter at Aragon Veterinary Clinic in San Mateo. Dr. Sutter was the vet at Guide Dogs for the Blind, and although he treats all animals, he specializes in Labrador retrievers. Aragon Vet Clinic is located at the corner of B St. and 2nd Ave. in downtown San Mateo.

I have been entrusting my pets' health to Dr. Frank Merrill of the Burlingame Family Pet Hospital in Burlingame and he's been there when we needed him. He emphasizes preventative care. He and his staff have been skilled and caring, as if my animals were theirs!

We've been through a transition in our shift to the new Patch site, but we think we have a lot of new opportunities for great local news and participation. They took down the sign that said they were opening on June 14 and I haven't seen a new one with theRead More new date go up. The website still says "Store Grand Opening is on target for June 14, 2013," so that clearly needs updating too.
