Downtown San Bruno: Why So Many Eyesores?

Here are some more questions about downtown San Bruno's problems that need more answers.

Ok. So I have a couple of more questions for The Chamber and for The Mayor.

We all know the Theater owner has died for some time now. What does that have to do with the fact that the Theater is still there, boarded up, abandoned, and an eyesore to the community? Isn't there something we can do about that?

I dont know about these things , which is why I am asking. It seems San Bruno has a lot of those "eyesores": The Theater, Lee's Buffet, which in my view is DISGUSTING , the Prudential property, and one big eyesore right next to my business , that big Black (Unused I might add) Parking Lot!

What is up with these abandoned buildings?!?!  With all the talk of No Parking available, wouldn't it seem logical to put a parking lot in one or two of these locations? I'd prefer something else, BUT if the people are calling for more parking, it kinda makes sense, No?

Another question. The people that I talk with (residents or business owners) in San Bruno are saying there are very few stores to attract them to the Ave.? Now who is responsable for letting such stores operate on The Ave. Is it The Chamber? Are the people invited to put their two cents in?

These days people are learning more and more about Small Buisiness and how essential it is to the community. So with a lot of Wonderful Small Businesses on The Ave., what are we doing wrong?? What are we doing to promote these businesses on The Ave.? I really don't know.

I do know San Bruno Patch advertises many. But what else? With all the empty spaces available, do we have a small business grant in order? Do people who are not on The chamber know of these? And why is it there has been quite a few Buisinesses next to Newells or 40's that Have NOT been able to stay in business?

Is it the bar? Is it the smell ? Is it the smoking? Is it too loud ? Are there strange people loitering? Red Flag? Is there a need for The Police to "walk the beat" again??

If there are young adults asking for money disturbing the Buisiness on The Ave., I think there's a BIG need for a cop or two to stroll The Ave. I'd love it, for one! Cops WALKING on the Ave., getting to know the people and the stores. How wonderful would that be?

That would surely take care of the young people begging for money.... Customers would feel safe again.

Yes, I have more questions and, yes, I will continue to ask. Please leave comments and suggestions and, if you have answers, we want those too.

I guess soon I shall or will have to join The Chamber or something. As I said before, San Bruno has been VERY good to me and My Small business.  I would HATE to have to leave in the future if our Downtown turns into a Ghost Town.

With that said "you gotta get up and try and try and try," and that is what I'm planning on doing. Happy Thanksgiving To All. More questions coming soon.
