12-Year-Old San Bruno Girl Receives 911 Hero Award

Skylar Pomeroy raced to a neighbor's house to call 911 after witnessing a domestic violence incident.

San Bruno police honored a 12-year-old girl Thursday who took quick action in reporting a domestic violence incident, KGO-TV reported.

The girl, Skyler Pomeroy, was staying at a friend’s home for the weekend last February, when she witnessed her friend and friend’s mother being beaten and chocked.

She raced downstairs to use a neighbor’s phone and call 911, which officers said helped the situation from getting worse. The dispatcher who answered Pomeroy’s call was also honored.
