Benicia Police Log: No Alarms, Woman Cited in Alcohol Compliancy Check, Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant

12:37 a.m.: Somebody was playing with fireworks on East T Street.

3:15 a.m.: A resident on East L Street reported seeing a suspicious person in the backyard.  Investigating officers found no one in the backyard.

1:38 p.m.: A citizen reported they had lost a wallet in the vicinity of Columbus Parkway.

1:57 p.m.: A vehicle was repossessed on Mallard.

2:22 p.m.: A citizen on Grant Street requested that a police officer verify a vehicle identification number.

2:27 p.m.: There was a non-injury traffic collision on First Street.

3:37 p.m.: A citizen who had an illegally parked vehicle on Lindo agreed to move the car.

4:33 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to East N Street where there were two people involved in a verbal dispute.  The police spoke to the people who denied having a verbal dispute.

4:48 p.m.: A citizen on Regis reported an unlicensed solicitor in the area.  The solicitor was gone when officers arrived on the scene.

5:12 p.m.: Police received a report of an illegally parked vehicle causing a traffic hazard.  Officers spoke to the vehicle owner who agreed to move it.

5:51 p.m.: A 34-year-old Benicia woman was cited and released after serving alcohol to a minor during an alcohol compliancy check conducted at Benicia restaurants.  The infraction occurred in the Southampton Shopping Center.

7:24 p.m.: A mother and daughter on Rose Drive had a major disagreement.  The mother wanted the daughter to her grandmother’s home.  The daughter didn’t want to go but changed her tune after speaking to officers.

8:00 p.m.: Police received a report of a solicitor on Bolton.

8:18 p.m.: A business on Goodyear Road reported a man was panhandling inside the business.  The panhandler was gone when officers arrived.

8:36 p.m.: A 23-year-old Benicia man was arrested on West Sixth Street for a probation violation and a warrant that was issued in Solano County.

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
