Burglars Interrupted While Trying to Break Into Home

Police believe the attempted burglary could be related to a similar incident that occurred last month.

Police are looking for two suspects in an attempted burglary that could be related to a similar incident that occurred last month.

A resident on the 2300 block of Oakmont Drive reported the incident on Tuesday around 6 p.m., according to Lt. Geoff Caldwell.

The resident said that an unknown man knocked several times on the front door, and then tried to force it open when he didn't get an answer, Caldwell said.

The suspect and another man, who was standing in the resident's driveway, ran away when a neighbor interrupted them.

A similar burglary was reported on Sept. 30 on the 200 block of Lake Drive, and investigators are trying to determine if the two are related, Caldwell said.

The suspects were described as black males in their 20s, both around 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 170 pounds.

Residents are asked to report any suspicious people or vehicles in their neighborhoods to police. Anyone with information on these burglaries is asked to call (650) 616-7100.
