Colma Names New Acting Police Chief

Thursday's appointment comes after the retirement of former Chief Jon Read.

The Town of Colma Thursday announced the appointment of a new Acting Chief of Police for the Colma Police Department.
 
Commander Kirk Stratton was sworn into his new position on July 9 and will act as the Chief of Police until January 7, 2015, town officials said in a statement.

Stratton's appointment comes after the retirement of former Chief Jon Read.

A 20-year employee of the Colma Police Department, Stratton has served in various capacities in both the police department and countywide task forces.

"I have built many relationships throughout my career with Town residents, businesses and employees. I am excited for the future of the Colma Police Department and the Town of Colma," Stratton said.
