Construction to Close San Mateo Avenue

The thoroughfare will be closed to traffic starting at 8 p.m. Friday.

Motorists should expect delays or detours this weekend while construction work continues on the Caltrain grade separation project in San Bruno.

Starting at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16 and continuing until 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19 San Mateo Avenue will be closed between Huntington and San Bruno avenues. During the closures, construction crews will be lowering the existing grade and building a new roadway. One way traffic control will be in place along Angus Avenue starting at Angus Bridge to install ceiling panels. Crews also will be installing ceiling panels under the bridge and painting. AT&T workers also will be doing miscellaneous work in the area.

At times, flaggers will be controlling traffic to allow trucks to enter and exit construction sites. Detour signs for pedestrians and motorists also will be set out each evening to help with traffic flow.
