UPDATE: San Bruno Mountain Fire Burns 41 Acres

UPDATED 10:32 P.M.:  The four-alarm grass fire that burned on San Bruno Mountain in South San Francisco was fully contained at 41 acres. Fire officials said the blaze did not spread to Brisbane.

UPDATED 5:30 P.M.: The fire on San Bruno Mountain has been contained.

UPDATED 4:19 P.M.: While fire officials have not yet announced evacuations, at least one area resident said his neighborhood has been evacuated.

Marko Gargenta said via Twitter that his neighborhood was evacuated, though no homes have been burned.

The Red Cross is working to provide water to the more than 100 firefighters working at the blaze in extremely hot conditions.

UPDATED 3:45 P.M.: Two Cal Fire aircrafts, one helicopter and a helitack hand crew were helping battle the four-alarm blaze burning across San Bruno Mountain.

According to the South San Francisco Fire Department, there are road closures in place at Hillside Boulevard and Chestnut Avenue.

Additionally, no injuries have been reported.

UPDATED 3:42 P.M.: The blaze on San Bruno Mountain had grown to 50 acres as of 3:40 p.m., according to the San Mateo County Office of Emergency Services.

UPDATED 3:20 P.M.: Homes in the area of Hillside Boulevard and Chestnut Avenue in South San Francisco were being evacuated Saturday as a four-alarm fire continued to burn on San Bruno Mountain.

UPDATED 2:50 P.M.: San Mateo County fire crews were battling a four-alarm fire on San Bruno Mountain Saturday afternoon.

According to FireDispatch.com, the blaze was reported at 1:54 p.m. at Chestnut Avenue and Hillside Boulevard in South San Francisco.

With Saturday's high temperatures and dry conditions, fire danger is high throughout the Bay Area.
