DUI Checkpoint Slated for Thursday
Police to spotlight San Bruno Avenue and El Camino Real.
The San Bruno Police Department will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Thursday evening in the area of San Bruno Avenue and El Camino Real.
The checkpoint will be in operation from 7pm until midnight.
“Our goal is to deter and arrest motorists that are driving under the influence, to help ensure the safety of all motorists and reduce the number of impaired drivers in our community,” said Cmdr. Matt Campi.

Police encourage people who plan on drinking to designate a sober driver. They also ask those who witness drunk driving to report it by calling 9-1-1.
The Police Department obtained state funding for the event, which works in conjunction with national and statewide campaigns to keep impaired drivers off the roadways.

Officers screened a total of 512 vehicles in a Jan. 7, citing 17 drivers and impounding as many cars. They arrested one motorist for DUI and another for possession of narcotics.
