Facebook is Replacing Stolen Computers at San Bruno’s El Crystal Elementary School

District is saved from having to pay $10,000 insurance deductible.

When thieves broke into El Crystal Elementary School just before Spring break they not only stole nearly 20 computers, but they also added a $10,000 expense to the San Bruno Park School District budget.

Now, thanks to an employee at the social media giant Facebook, El Crystal Elementary is getting replacement computers.

According to Facebook spokeswoman Alex Hollander the company got involved when Eric Sylvester, a program manager on the IT team at Facebook, heard about the theft from one of his colleagues who works at the San Mateo County Health Department.

Skip Johnson, the principal at El Crystal is currently out of town and not available for comment on the Facebook donation.
