Fire Alarm Prompts Brief Evacuation at SFO

Terminal 2 at San Francisco International Airport was briefly evacuated Wednesday afternoon when a fire alarm was inadvertently set off, an airport spokesman said.

The fire alarm went off around 3:15 p.m. An automated emergency announcement went off with the alarm and passengers were told to evacuate, airport spokesman Doug Yakel said.

However, within minutes the alarm was shut off and the situation was resolved, he said.
