For the third day of our coverage of the disaster in San Bruno, Patch will have a team of reporters in the San Bruno area shooting pictures, taking video and telling your stories.

Saturday

7:51 a.m.: Lt. Gov. Abel Maldonado and Sen. Barbara Boxer will speak at a 9:15 a.m. press conference this morning at the Command Center at Bayhill Shopping Center. There will be an update from state emergency officials.

7:00 a.m.: TV news outlets are reporting that residents are becoming angry that they are not being allowed to enter their homes. Officials are saying they have to make sure it's safe first.

Friday

2:30 p.m.: In an interview with Patch, state Assemblywoman Jackie Spier said she's trying to get FEMA help. "We need to establish enough of a loss for federal help," she said. "FEMA will be here on Monday, and we deserve their support. Although many will be covered by insurance, there are renters and the underinsured. And we need to help them rebuild their lives."

12:33 p.m.: 75 percent of the search of the fire-stricken area is completed.

12:20 p.m.: Second press conference begins at command center at Bayhill Shopping Center.

11:34 a.m.: Dr. Michael Kulick reports that three of the four burn victims have burns on 50 percent of their bodies; one has burns on 40 percent of their body. Kulick said for the three more severely burned patients, their injuries are potentially life threatening and recovery could take a year or more.

11:23 a.m.: Press conference begins at Saint Francis Memorial Hospital. A Patch reporter is there and we will update as soon as more information is available.

11:05 a.m.: The city has put together a map showing the area affected by the fire. It can be found here by clicking on the map image.

10:24 a.m.:  Insurance adjusters are estimating that the cost of the damage could reach the tens of millions of dollars.

10:04 a.m.: At the center of the incident, police are treating the area as a crime scene and guarding it for safety reasons, so it remains closed to public access.

8:31 a.m. Information about individual homes is available at the local assistance center at City Park.

8:28 a.m.: PG&E can't yet safely get close enough to the source of the explosion to find out what caused it.

8:27 a.m.: 700 people without power. Power expected to be restored by noon. 300 people without gas.

8:13 a.m.: Blocks most affected: 1600 and 1700 blocks of Claremont, 900 block of Glenview, 1700 block of Earl, 1100 block of Fairmont and 2700 block of Concord.

8:00 a.m.: Press conference begins at San Bruno City Hall. City Council members and public safety department heads are present, along with state legislators.

7:59 a.m.: No school today at any San Bruno schools or at Parkside Middle School or Capuchino High School.

7:56 a.m.: Residents who live in the evacuation zone are asked to check in at 650-616-7180, so they can be accounted for.

7:30 a.m.: According to PG&E, the National Transportation Safety Board is responsible for investigating natural gas explosions. Someone from the NTSB will be in San Bruno today.
