Four Seriously Injured in Crash on San Bruno Mountain

The accident remains under investigation.

Four people were seriously injured when their vehicle went over the edge of a roadway in San Bruno Mountain State Park this afternoon, according to North County Fire Authority officials.

The crash on Guadalupe Canyon Parkway was reported just after 1 p.m. today around half a mile east of Radio Road, fire officials said.

Firefighters found four passengers in the vehicle, which had gone down an embankment.

All four victims were extricated from the vehicle, placed on backboards, treated for injuries and carried up the hill to waiting ambulances in a special rescue basket using a hiking trail, fire officials said.

The victims were all taken to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
