The Gateway Inn and Suites Hotel in San Bruno was robbed by a gunman Monday night.

Three days after a suspect eluded police following an armed robbery at a San Bruno hotel, he was arrested after a traffic stop in Burlingame, police said.

Officers in San Bruno responded to a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred at the Gateway Inn and Suites Hotel, at 516 El Camino Real, at about 9 p.m. last Monday, police said. When the officers arrived, they were told a man pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded cash. He then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and was not found, according to police.

On Thursday, police in Burlingame made a traffic stop of a car in the 800 block of Airport Boulevard at about 1:10 p.m. After the officers believed the man stopped may be connected to the robbery Monday at the Gateway Inn and Suites, they contacted investigators at the San Bruno Police Department, according to police.

Responding San Bruno detectives found evidence linked to the robbery and arrested 28-year-old Millbrae resident David S. King. King was booked into jail on suspicion of armed robbery.
