Update: Interstate 280 Reopened Following Major Injury Crash

All southbound lanes were blocked for hours by the collision.

All southbound lanes have now reopened.
One person was taken to Stanford Hospital with major injuries.

All lanes of southbound Interstate Highway 280 in Hillsborough are blocked this morning due to a crash, according to the California Highway Patrol. 

The crash was reported at about 3:45 a.m. on southbound Highway 280 at the Black Mountain Road off-ramp, the CHP said. A Sig-alert was issued at 4:08 a.m. with all lanes blocked because of the collision, according to the CHP. 

One of the cars in the crash overturned, and was resting on its roof on the roadway, the CHP said. It is unknown when the lanes will reopen. 

Details about the condition of the passengers were not immediately available.
