Kerns File Latest Lawsuit Against PG&E for Pipeline Explosion

The number of lawsuits against PG&E for the Sept. 9 fire has now grown to more than 60.

The Kern family has joined the dozens of other residents who are suing PG&E for the Sept. 9 pipeline explosion with the latest lawsuit filed against the utility.

The lawsuit was filed April 22 in San Mateo Superior Court and seeks unspecified damages as a result of the disaster, which left eight people dead, 38 homes destroyed and more than 50 people injured in the Crestmoor neighborhood.

Charges against Pacific Gas & Electric Co. include negligence, infliction of emotional distress, battery, strict liability and trespassing. The lawsuit also claims PG&E has prevented Siobhan and Neil Kern from having normal marital relations as a result of the injuries Siobhan suffered in the fire.
