Man Attempts to Lure Teenager Into Car

The suspicious man drove off on Mastick Avenue. A similar incident happened on the same day in Burlingame.

San Bruno police are looking for the public's help in finding a suspicious man who attempted to lure a girl into his car this week.

Police received a report on Thursday that a driver in a blue sedan pulled up alongside a 16-year-old girl who was walking down the 400 block of Mastick Avenue about 1:20 p.m.

The driver reportedly made a rude gesture at the girl and asked her to come over to his car, but she ignored him and walked away, police said.

The man—described as a white man in his 40s, bald, clean-shaven and wearing a light blue button-up shirt—was last seen driving west on Taylor Avenue.

A similar incident happened in Burlingame on Thursday.

In that case, a man in a shiny light blue sedan pulled up alongside a 13-year-old girl near Dwight Road and Bayswater Avenue about 3:55 p.m. He tried to get the girl's attention by offering her cash and asking her if she wanted to "earn some money," police said.

The girl ignored the man and walked away, and the man—described as a white man in his 30s with short blonde hair and wearing black framed, dark glasses—drove west on Bayswater Avenue, police said.

Burlingame Police are investigating that suspicious incident.

Anyone with information related to these incidents is encouraged to call the San Bruno Police Department at 650-616-7100 or the Burlingame Police Department at 650-777-4100.

This is a very disturbing story. The best way to keep our children safe is to constantly remind them of the dangers out there. My parents way back in the 50's and 60's drove the point home with my sisters and I. We never would stop to speak with these predators, we ran far away from them.
