Murder Trial Set for Seizure Suffering San Bruno Man

The man's seizures caused seven accidents in nine years.

A local man who has made a habit of dangerous driving will face a judge on multiple murder and manslaughter charges in August.

Rodney Edward Corsiglia, 49, of San Bruno, was involved in seven car crashes from 2002 to 2011, all stemming from a seizure disorder for which he takes medicine.

On July 28, 2012, Corsiglia was speeding at 40-50 miles per hour on Sneath Lane when he had a seizure and rear-ended a car containing two men at a red light, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney's Office. Both men, fathers of a total of five kids, died instantly.

The victims' car smashed into two other cars, injuring two more people.

Corsiglia is being charged with two counts of murder, two counts of manslaughter and one count of driving with a suspended license.

In a pretrial conference on Monday, a judge decided that Corsiglia's jury trial will begin on Aug 19, DA's Office notes indicate.

Corsiglia remains in jail without bail until the trial.
