PG&E Hit With 3 More Lawsuits for Pipeline Explosion

A Crosby Court couple, an 80-year-old Daley Court resident and three sisters living at an Estates Drive home are all plaintiffs in the latest lawsuits filed against the utility in connection with the Sept. 9 fire.

Three more Crestmoor homeowners have filed lawsuits against PG&E in connection with the Sept. 9 natural gas pipeline explosion and fire in the neighborhood. 

The lawsuits were filed Feb. 2 in San Mateo County Superior Court and join nearly that have been filed against the utility since the fire. 

The Kims, the Alcaron sisters and 80-year-old Carmen Welsh—who was driving back to her Daley Court home and had just passed Glenview Drive and Earl Avenue when the pipeline exploded—are all plaintiffs in the latest three separate complaints.

The charges include negligence, intentional infliction of emotional distress, public and private nuisance and trespassing. 

They all seek unspecified damages.

PG&E spokesman Joe Molica said the utility will continue to work with the city and neighborhood to help restore the residents' lives.

The San Mateo County Superior Court is now expected to hold a hearing Feb. 24 to decide whether to have filed against PG&E.
