Plea Expected Tomorrow in Japanese Embassy Official’s Domestic Violence Case

Embassy official was arrested in May and charged with 14 counts of domestic violence.

The case of People v. Yoshiaki Nagaya has been added to the court calendar for Thursday morning, December 20, 2012 8:45, in Dept. 9, Judge Craig Parsons, courtroom 2-A, for disposition.

“We believe that the case will resolve Thursday morning with the entry of a nolo contendere plea by the defendant,” said San Mateo District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe in an email.

Nagaya was arrested in May and charged with 14 counts of domestic violence for allegedly stabbing his wife in the hand with a screwdriver, knocking out her tooth, stomping on her and throwing her out of a car during the course of their marriage—allegations that the embassy official has denied.
