Police Log: Auto Thefts, Embezzlement and a Broken Fire Hydrant

Thursday, Oct. 25

5:37 a.m. A vehicle was stolen on the 100 block of Elder Court.

Sometime before 4:16 p.m., an auto burlgary occurred on the 1100 block of El Camino Real.

Friday, Oct. 26

10:58 a.m. Police received a report of an embezzlement involving two employees at a business on the 1100 block of El Camino Real.

4:55 p.m. Police received a report that a gray Mazda was broken into sometime between Oct. 25 and Oct. 26. Some tools were stolen from the car's trunk, and the thief broke into the car through doors that were left unlocked.

Saturday, Oct. 27

Sometime before 7:52 a.m., a fire hydrant was "sheared off" near Atlantic Avenue and Montgomery Avenue and water spewed out into the street.

Sunday, Oct. 28

12:24 a.m. A home was broken into on the 1500 block of Montgomery Drive. The homeowner's grandmother was at the home when the burglary happened. The grandmother said she heard the garage door open and the alarm go off.

3:31 p.m. A gray 2012 Dodge Durango was broken into on the second level of a parking garage at The Shops at Tanforan. A window was left cracked open, which is how police think the thief entered the vehicle.
