Police Log: Employee Robbed at Knifepoint

Thursday

11:36 a.m. A resident on the 700 block of Fourth Avenue reported an identity theft case to police after someone allegedly used the resident’s personal information to open a Best Buy account in Chicago and made purchases totaling $5,978.

Sometime before 11:10 p.m., police were called to help disperse a group of people who had gathered on the Huntington Avenue side of in anticipation of Nike’s release of the new Air Jordan basketball shoes.

11:10 p.m. A big rig ran into a man who was in a basket doing some work, although no injuries were reported.

3:47 a.m. Police were called to help security at The Shops at Tanforan with a group that was waiting for the release of the new Air Jordan basketball shoes. There was a misunderstanding about a list that was created to determine who would get inside the mall to buy the shoes. A disturbance ensued.

7:11 a.m. Police stopped a male who had trespassed inside The Shops at Tanforan.

12:09 p.m. A silent burglary alarm was set off on the 300 block of Piedmont Avenue.

7:07 p.m. Police received a report of a stolen vehicle on the 1000 block of San Antonio Avenue.

8:26 p.m. An employee of a business on the 1200 block of El Camino Real was robbed at knifepoint after stopping a person to ask for a receipt. The suspect left in a green van, police said.

9:33 p.m. A dark green Toyota 4Runner was burglarized on the 1100 block of El Camino Real, and gifts and a GPS were stolen from the SUV.

Saturday

9:25 a.m. A white Chevy 1500 was burglarized on the 200 block of Carlton Avenue.

1:46 p.m. Police received a report of a robbery at Spencer’s Gifts at The Shops at Tanforan.

10:22 p.m. Police received a call about a drunk driver who was heading to San Bruno from Millbrae. The driver was stopping erratically and almost drove into a wall.

10:40 p.m. A drunk driver in a dark Chevy SUV was spotted swerving along the roadway near Highway 101 and San Bruno Avenue East.

11:40 p.m. Police received a report of an attempted auto burglary on the 400 block of San Mateo Avenue.

Sunday

8:29 a.m. At least two restroom toilet seat covers were set on fire and left damaged on the 500 block of Cherry Avenue.

10:44 p.m. A resident on the 500 block of Mastick Avenue called police after arriving home and finding blood smeared over the kitchen and living room walls and cabinets.

10:57 p.m. Police were called about someone illegally setting off fireworks on the  100 block of Riverside Drive.
