Police Log: Thieves Target Cars, Homes, Bank and Residents

The following information was supplied by the San Bruno Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday

8:01 a.m. Someone broke into a resident's garage overnight on the 100 block of Darby Place and stole two off-road motorcycles and some tools.

4:55 p.m. A white Ford van parked on Shelter Creek Lane in front of Garage No. 2 at the condominium complex was broken into, and a power washer was stolen.

6:07 p.m. Someone kicked in a back door of a house on the 1000 block of Montgomery Avenue and ransacked the place.

Friday

2:37 a.m. A vehicle was on fire on the 200 block of Del Norte Drive.

12:05 p.m. A gray Honda Civic was was broken into on the first floor of the Target garage.

1:04 p.m. Red spray-painted graffiti was spotted on a redwood fence facing the freeway on the 1000 block of Cherry Avenue.

6:56 p.m. Police received a report that a dark blue Honda Accord was stolen sometime between 6 p.m. Sept. 6 and 6:30 p.m. Sept. 7.

10:54 p.m. A silver 2000 Toyota Camry was stolen on the 600 block of San Mateo Avenue. 

Saturday

Sometime before 3:19 a.m., a drunk driver was spotted on the 400 block of San Bruno Avenue East.

10:04 a.m. A . The robber showed a note to the teller but didn't have a weapon.

12:02 p.m. A black Jeep Wrangler was scratched over the entire vehicle on the 1100 block of El Camino Real.

12:29 p.m. Four tires were slashed and a gas cover was broken on the green Chevy Camaro on the 2800 block of Sneath Lane.

2:05 p.m. A gray Chevy Concord was stolen near Herman Street and Scott Street.

2:07 p.m. A drunk driver in a white Chevy Blazer was spotted on the 2000 block of Whitman Way.

3:15 p.m. A 6-year-old girl was reported missing. She was described as Latina and wearing light faded jeans.

Sunday

2:28 a.m. A drunk driver was spotted near Seventh Avenue and Angus Avenue East.

9:48 a.m. A drunk driver in a gray Honda struck a sign on the 800 block of El Camino Real, and the driver ran away.

12:04 p.m. A fire was reported on the 3000 block of Fasman Drive, and it was put out.

1:43 p.m. Police received a report that a catalytic converter was stolen from a silver Toyota Sequoia on the 2700 block of Ridgeway Avenue sometime between Sept. 1 and Sept. 9.

4:02 p.m. A resident was robbed at gunpoint on the 700 block of San Bruno Avenue East. The robber stole the person's money and took off on foot toward Highway 101.

4:09 p.m. Police received a report that an auto burglary occurred overnight at New York Pizza. A stereo and property in the trunk of the vehicle were stolen.

Mr, Kiely, When they cut school days, isn't the savings in that the employees who directly work withRead More and for the children are deprived of that many days of pay??? Do the principals also lose 5 days pay? Does Hutt lose 5 days pay? Do the board members lose 5 days worth of their stipend. In other words, is the bad tasting medicine swallowed by everyone in the school district in a sincere effort to cure the ills of this school district Or is it just the teachers and the classified workers who are called upon to attempt a restoral of good health, the direct result of poor management and less than admirable leadership that has brought about ths crisis??

I question why they would have contracted for PE at the elementary level. Isn't that what recess and the balance of lunch time was for? Physical activity??? District cutting school days? The District is showing an agreement with the union which will saveRead More $200K. It doesn't show where the money is coming from, but the amount makes it look like they are cutting 5 days from the calendar. Dr. Hutt said at the last meeting that the length of the school year was still under negotiation.
